DesignShop

Home renovations can be equal parts exciting and stressful. To combat the latter, DesignShop, a new platform from the minds at MaterialBank, aims to simplify the process of sourcing and sampling materials, making renovations more enjoyable and helping users make more informed design decisions.

Launched this month, DesignShop allows renovators to use a dynamic set of features to discover products and brands across 15 different categories like paint, wallpaper, countertops & stone, tile, flooring, fabric & leather, hardware, and more. The process is simple: Visit the DesignShop site, explore materials from 50+ brands, make your selections and then receive your samples the very next day if placed Monday-Thursday before midnight EST.

“Think of DesignShop as a tool, similar to how Kayak helps you find the perfect flight or hotel,” shares Peter Fain, president at DesignShop. “No one wants to make a mistake when painting a wall, installing a new kitchen or replacing their floors. DesignShop brings clarity and builds confidence, simplifying decisions and helping them move forward.”

Users can search by category to quickly get to their specific needs. Specify your query by brand, and discover materials from the top names in home design including Farrow & Ball, TileBar, Sunbrella, Kohler and many more. Users can also filter by color, price, material type and a range of other features. For those who need a bit more inspiration, DesignShop’s site features a host of captivating collections that showcase materials in actual home environments. Choose from eight different room types (like kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc.) or nine interior design styles (from traditional to eclectic) to get the creativity flowing.

Who Is DesignShop For?

The tool can be especially helpful for renovators who are considering a home-improvement project but are unsure where to start when it comes to either materials or style. The visualization features in the tool bring design ideas to life, helping the user see a realistic interpretation of their materials within a similar space.

For those who have already partnered with an interior designer, contractor or other trade professional, DesignShop can speed up the process and keep complex projects moving. Explore materials across brand and categories, order samples and share with your design team to save time and increase efficiency.
